I wasn't going to post this...

but... the heck with it.

Betty saw this picture on my screen the day I was putting it together. The first words out of her mouth were..."Lary!!!! Where did you get the money for that sword and those clothes...you know we're on a tight budget!"

Hmmmmmm... I was debating whether or not it would be worth my time to explain the intricasies of Photoshop. The answer... No!

Afternoon Delight

Betty, the Pookster, and I decided to have lunch in Canton the other day. Now, usually Betty is a pretty picky eater. But on this day, as you can see, Betty decided to have a go at a double Club sandwich with a side of Absolut in a dirty glass.

Not only did Betty get a good munch out of the deal, she also got to see the former residence of the Pookster. I, of course, was not allowed in. Instead, I got to see my favourite bar-tendress at the Cosmo while Betty and Pook played with the Pookster's cats.

A good day was had by all.

Situation Normal

So far... things are going about as expected. The tennant was late getting out yesterday. The furniture place called to say that some of the things Pook bought arrived damaged ... so they wouldn't be delivered when originally scheduled. The neighbor has a big dog that just about ate some kid. The intercom system doesn't work on the deck and the alarm shorted out.

Today the painter is going to show up... hopefully.

Other than that... things are peachy. The Pook is gorgeous as always.

Today is Move-In Day

Yes... fans... today is the day. Of course, Pookster is up ... it's 5:30 AM... packing boxes and loading the car.

We're going over early this morning to evict the current tennant... she's canadian so we're putting cans of Molson on the sidewalk. When she goes to get 'em we're going to close the door behind her.

I'll post some pictures later today... weather permitting.

Cleaning Up For the Party

I told Sid he didn't need to clean... after all, this is a Father's Day party. The thing is you can't stop him once he makes his mind up... so I let him run the Swiffer.

And of course... he just couldn't resist getting dressed up like Jessica Simpson. Sid loves doing housework so one of these days I'll get a picture of him dusting furniture in his Madonna outfit... you know... the one with the torpedo cups.

Why don't you like Shiloh, Angelina???

OMFG, right? I hate you Angelina Jolie, you're so mean. But then again, I always thought Brad didn't like Shiloh. *GASP* What if they both don't like her? Is Shiloh naughty or ugly or something? Shiloh shouldn't be around such beautiful people if she got whacked by the ugly stick.

Anyhow, that shouldn't have been the subject of this post, but I had to get it off my chest.

Here's my obligatory cat photo - is Sheila the cat liking this tree or hating it? You decide:

Another Big Party

Well... I'm looking forward to the party at Club 213 tomorrow. Among the luminaries expected to be in attendance are Mr. Sid Lasky, Buzzamo and his lovely wife D2, D2's Dad, JT, and mostly importantly... the Pookster. Betty will be there also but these days it's tough knowing where she is... if you get my drift.

This lavish affair will be catered as usual by the staff at Club 213. The menu includes various animal parts lovingly seared on the barbeque as well as several dozen Maryland bluecrabs (flown in of course from Louisiana).

Me & Sid at "the Club"

Sid decided that since we hadn't seen each other for quite some time, he & I should spend some quality time together after his party. I was happy to go along because... well... he's right. We haven't seen each other in over twenty years and I was curious as to what he's been up to.

Turns out... he took me to this happenin' place downtown called "Bertha's Muscles". He said the Club was located at the intersection of Fayette and Gay. When I pointed out that those two streets don't intersect... he just smiled.

Anyway, Sid knew the way so I let him drive. Halfway through the evening, some friend of Sid's took this picture. Sid introduced him as "Nancy". I thought I heard him wrong but I didn't ask questions.

Everyone was so polite... guys were wanting to push my stool in all night long.

Fun time!

Sid's Birthday Party

Sid turned 87 the other day... a milestone. Seems like just a year ago, he was turning 86. Go Figure...

The party was a huge success... dinner at Outback Steakhouse in Hunt Valley followed by cigars and brandy at Chez Lasky. Here's a picture taken during the traditional "Opening of the Gifts".

Sid had just opened his birthday card from Pook and discovered she had gotten him a monthly subscription to "Buns & Ammo" magazine. He was very pleased.
